Join us for the third in a series of seven classes designed for new (but open to all) board members who would like to deepen their leadership experience. Classes will address different areas of the organization's operations and are designed to provide board members with a broader understanding of Charles E. Smith Life Communities.

Quality 101

This class will cover key topics relating to facility compliance with the federal Requirements of Participation (RoPs) for skilled nursing facilities. This will include:

  • The annual survey process and the complaint investigation process.
  • An overview of the regulatory structure of skilled nursing facilities deficiencies, F-Tags and a review of commonly cited deficiencies.
  • An overview of the Scope and Severity grid used by surveyors to determine penalties and the implications associated with deficiencies.
  • A review of some of the processes that Hebrew Home uses as part of survey readiness.
